After being in Colombia for nearly a year, I have become accustomed to some truly wonderful coffee. When I first landed in the United States, one of the first places I went to was Starbucks for a cup of coffee. After one sip, I almost threw up. The coffee here is strong and bold, full of flavor. Juan Valdez is where it is at (the Starbucks equivalent), with me ensuring that I make a stop at least once a day. The staff there knows me as the stupid gringo.
It’s hard to explain to others about my experiences in Bogotá. I’ve had some of the best days of life here, as well as some pretty hard ones. But, the good easily triumphs over the bad. Continue reading
